Rise of Corduene
A Kurdish Gaming Experience
In 2023, our team initiated a project to make learning the Kurdish language, history, and struggle more engaging and immersive. With a diverse set of skills among our members, we came up with the idea of creating gaming communities specifically centered around Kurdish culture and identity.
Rise of Corduene is our first draft of a fully Kurdish gaming experience.
Our lore creator dedicated almost a year to crafting an intricate and compelling background story for the game, drawing inspiration from epic tales such as Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, and Conan the Barbarian. The finished lore draft spans over 500 pages, covering the pre-story, main storyline, character backstories (both primary and secondary), and much more.
In 2023, our team released a YouTube teaser showcasing several key elements of the game, including survival mode, building mode, and quest mode. Initially, Rise of Corduene was developed as a mod of an existing game, modified to integrate Kurdish lore, content, and experience.
Current Status
The project is currently on hold due to a few development challenges. At this stage, the team has a buggy and unfinished draft available for testing. Over time, we have come to the conclusion that we want to evolve Rise of Corduene from a mod into a fully independent game. This transition will take time, and we sincerely hope to receive the community’s support and patience as we work towards this goal.
